Geneva, Switzerland: Fazal Ur Rehman Afridi, a Pashtun human rights defender, has accused Pakistan of carrying out deadly airstrikes on civilians in Afghanistan, alleging that a hospital bombing killed nearly 400 patients and left many injured. Speaking on the sidelines of the 61st UN Human Rights Council session, Afridi termed the strikes a grave violation of international law and urged the United Nations to ensure accountability. He further alleged widespread human rights abuses by Pakistan’s military in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, claiming civilians are increasingly caught in escalating military operations and cross-border tensions.
