J&K’s Kishtwar in chaos as cloudburst sparks flash floods, search teams active, rescue ops underway

Kishtwar (J&K), August 15, 2025 (ANI): Rescue workers are working amid loose rocks, fallen trees, and debris on August 15 after flash floods hit Kishtwar district. The flash floods struck Chashoti town in Kishtwar, a stopover on a popular pilgrimage route. Following the tragic incident One of the Survivor said “Immediately after a loud sound, I saw flood water rushing in. Around 150-200 people were here at that time. I started running. When I looked back, I saw no one. I have no idea where all the people vanished. I pulled my car to this spot. I saw some bodies here…we have suffered huge losses. I saw people being washed away. They were raising their hands as they asked for help. But, what could I do? I was terrified."
