Zelensky presses for support as over 100 missiles fired at Kiev

Kiev [Ukraine], October 29: Russia fired more than 100 ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian capital of Kiev and the surrounding region within a fortnight, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday.
"We are doing everything possible to protect our energy sector, to protect our infrastructure and our logistics. The task is extremely difficult. Unfortunately, there have also been casualties," he said in his nightly address.
Zelensky renewed his call for partners to supply air-defence missiles for Patriot systems to protect Ukraine against Russian ballistic missile attacks.
"If our partners' support for Ukraine remained just as strong - particularly when it comes to our Patriots and other air defence capabilities - Ukraine would be in a completely different position - a much better one diplomatically as well," he said.
"Unfortunately, there are significant restrictions on supplies, with these air defence packages being delayed. I want to thank all our partners who provide their support on time. But unfortunately, there are also delays."
Zelensky had repeatedly complained in recent days that the US was not delivering promised and paid-for missiles.
