Aug 20, 2026
Hanoi [Vietnam], August 20: Lisa has just received 4 nominations at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, bringing her total career nominations to 10 and officially making her the most nominated Kpop solo artist in the history of the awards, Kbizoom reported on August 19.
The official nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) were announced on August 18th, with Lisa being one of the most prominent Kpop representatives. The singer received four nominations in the categories of Best Pop, Best Kpop, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing, all for her song DREAM, a collaboration with Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.
Lisa has never lost in the Best Kpop category.
With four additional nominations this year, Lisa has increased her total number of MTV VMA nominations to 10, setting a new record among K-pop solo artists. She surpasses Rose with eight nominations, while Jungkook has four and Jisoo has two.
This new achievement adds another remarkable milestone to Lisa's already impressive solo record, showcasing her unique style alongside her successes with BlackPink.
Lisa's history at the MTV VMA is particularly impressive, as she consistently turns Best Kpop nominations into wins. In 2022, Lisa made history with "LALISA ," becoming the first Kpop solo artist, and the first female Kpop solo artist, to win Best Kpop at the MTV VMA. Two years later, she returned to the awards ceremony with "ROCKSTAR ." The song received four nominations and once again brought Lisa a win in the Best Kpop category. This achievement made her the first solo artist to win this category twice. In 2025, her collaboration " Born Again" with Doja Cat and RAYE further extended the Thai beauty's winning streak. The singer won Best Kpop for the third time, thus equaling BTS's record for the most wins in this category. This also created a special achievement at the MTV VMA: Lisa has never failed to win Best Kpop whenever she has been nominated.
